About me

Dr. Lindsay Newman is an experienced geopolitical risk expert and thought leader - a storyteller of geopolitics. Most recently, she served as the Practice Head, Global Macro-Geopolitics at Eurasia Group. Lindsay focuses on global trend forecasting and thematic strategy, building on her decades-long experience in the political risk space. She is a frequent public speaker and contributor across television, radio, and print media, and writes the “Views on America” column for GZERO Media. Lindsay is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Lindsay was previously Head of Geopolitical Thought Leadership with S&P Global, Market Intelligence. Lindsay was a member of S&P Global’s Research Council, and co-led the Council's Diversity in Markets research lab. Lindsay has also served as a Senior Research Fellow with Chatham House in the US and Americas Programme. She began her career as a corporate lawyer working in the capital markets practice of White & Case in New York, where she advised global companies and financial institutions on capital raising activities in the debt and equity markets.

Lindsay received a bachelor’s degree from Yale University, B.A. Political Science (honors with distinction) and International Studies (honors with distinction), magna cum laude, her Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law and her PhD from the Politics Department at New York University, where her research modeled drivers of and investor response to electoral violence.

She lives in London with her family and can be found almost all the time near a football pitch.
